I am so proud of my daughter, Lailyn G.. She completed “No Roses For Harry” all by herself. It took three days to get through, but she finished last night in the car while we were driving down to the beach! I am not sure what level that book is. It is copyright 1958 and about a dog who doesn’t like his rose sweater from Grandma. Does any one know how to find out the reading level?

Ashli G. I found some information regarding reading level for No Roses for Harry at this website: http://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews/No-Roses-for-Harry.html
It’s an exciting time when a child starts to read independently! Lailyn’s adventures are endless when she begins reading. We hope to hear back back from you soon!

Way to go Lailyn! I remember reading that book when I was a little girl. Wow! We are proud to have a new Cardinal reader at Trantwood. I know we teachers sure love to read a lot when we have more time during the summer. I hope we hear about the next book that you read very soon!

Jack has been enjoying reading books to his little brother Harrison. It’s a thrill for him to read the same books that I read to him not long ago.

Alexis,
Glad you enjoyed your VBS experience. Also, good luck with your karate testing! Let us know how things worked out. What advice do you have for others facing a challenge such as this?

I am having a fun summer. I just got back from Lake Gaston. I caught a big bass, a huge catfish, and lots of little blue gills that stole my bait all the time. I went tubing. One time I went so high that I flew in the air and almost fell off. I also did Vacation Bible School. It was fun! I am reading a lot and almost have my reading log filled in!

I helped out in my VBS in the craft room. It was tiring and I went home and slept untill dinner after. I will miss Trantwood

Pierce- I just love Lake Gaston. Sounds like you are a great fisherman. Glad you’re so enthusiastic about reading.
Emily- What books are you reading? Do you have a favorite series? Sorry to hear about your foot! Give it time to heal. You’ll be back dancing even better than before. :)

This summer, I went to lots of classes to get ready for the new school year. I am learning how to blog which is a lot of fun.

Right now my favorite series are the Candy Apple books, The Royal Diaries, and the P. J. and the Olympians. The books in those series are mostly the only books I’m reading.

I missed all teachers when I moved back to England. I’m on my courageous journey back to England.
